Compliance Manager

Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement compliance/due diligence policies, procedures and workflows that are aligned with relevant regulations e.g. MAS regulations and related best practices e.g. relating to outsourcing, enterprise-wide risk assessment
- Partner, train and engage with investment businesses and corporate functions to ensure strong appreciation and awareness of critical compliance, risk and legal aspects
- Manage communications on regulatory updates or new regulations, and policy changes in line with the overall industry
- Advise on specific transactions and be involved in ad-hoc investigative projects from a compliance perspective
- Maintain productive relationships with external stakeholders to keep abreast with compliance regulations, and to deliver efficient and effective frameworks and processes
- Assist in corporate secretarial deliverables
- Oversee compliance related filing processes e.g. corporate secretarial filing, ad-hoc enquiries and investigations
Job Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor Degree from a recognised institution with a relevant field of study
- Minimum 7 -10 years of relevant experience, preferably from medium to large organisations with a global/matrix structure with in-house compliance experience
- Experience in funds/asset management or investment setting, experience in setting up compliance policies/processes as well as in corporate secretarial duties preferred
- Sound understanding and knowledge of regulatory requirements including cross-jurisdictional regulations, especially in a fund management setting that involves MAS regulations, AML, KYC and tax
- Experience across the full spectrum of legal and compliance work in an investment and cross-jurisdictional settings would be advantageous e.g. legal, compliance, audit, regulatory and corporate secretarial
- Good business and investment acumen, with awareness of global markets, economy and geopolitical developments
- Strategic mindset with strong analytical skills, strong appreciation for confidentiality and good project management skills
- Strong communication skills to relate complex issues effectively
