Ricky started his career in the late 1980s as an entrepreneur. Over the years, he made various successful acquisitions and built several successful businesses.
In 2006, Ricky incorporated Legend Investment Holdings in Hong Kong to consolidate his investments. In 2008, he set up Sun Venture with the objective of acquiring prime commercial properties in Singapore. He made many rewarding investments and managed to grow the business significantly. In 2016, to diversify the real estate capabilities of the firm, he formulated multi-asset investment strategies. This was done through establishing a fund management unit to invest in global equities and bonds over a long-term time horizon. In addition, he expanded Sun Venture’s capabilities in 2020 by setting up the private equity unit to invest in promising and privately-held companies in the region.
Throughout the years, Ricky played a key role in transforming Sun Venture. To date, Ricky regularly offers guidance to colleagues and readily implements changes that matter to the firm. This helps to ensure that Sun Venture maintains its relevance in the industry, continues its positive growth trajectory, and develops its staff to the fullest.
HC Yang is a passionate entrepreneur with business interests in real estate. He had founded real estate companies in Taiwan, where he embarked on various notable residential projects in the early 1990s. With his vast business network, he also founded and developed other businesses in Greater China.
As a co-founder, HC Yang works hand in hand with Ricky, playing a key role in the active management of Sun Venture, and advising the investment teams on deals and acquisitions to further develop and grow the firm.
Kah Peng partners the investment businesses of the firm as well as overseeing the Finance function. Prior to Sun Venture, he was from a US private equity fund, Olympus Capital where his last role was their Asia Pacific Financial Director and Chief Financial Officer of Olympus Capital’s Asia Environmental Partners Fund. He has over 20 years of experience in Controllership roles across Asian offices of US and European Investment Banks covering financial products as well as real estate and private equities.
Kah Peng holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from the National University of Singapore and a Master of Business Administration from the Singapore Management University.
Serene assists the principal in the management of the investment portfolio. Prior to Sun Venture, she spent 14 years as a consultant to the regional institutional clients at Mercer Investment Solutions Singapore. As their Head of Advisory, she led various projects including strategic asset allocation, manager selection, fund selection, out-sourced CIO, regulatory reviews, and monitoring of investment programmes. Before Mercer, she was the CEO of ING Investment Management Asia Pacific (Singapore) Ltd.
Serene holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University. She is also a CFA Charterholder.
Boon Long currently resides on the Isle of Man and leads Sun Venture initiatives on the island. Upon graduation in 1995, Boon Long gained extensive experience in the financial services industry in Singapore before taking up senior executive roles on the Isle of Man specialising in strategy and operations management.
Boon Long graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the National University of Singapore.
Ryan is the Managing Director of the Isle of Man office and has over 25 years’ experience in finance. Prior to Sun Venture, he was the Managing Director of Appleby Global Services in the Isle of Man and has over 10 years’ experience in the fiduciary sector with a focus on UK commercial property. Prior to this, Ryan was based in London and held a number of finance roles with blue chip companies including Reuters and UBS before joining a US$2bn European Real Estate fund where he was Finance Director and Head of Operations.
Ryan has an Honours Degree from St Andrews University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants after qualifying as an ACA with Deloitte.
Kok Hong has over 20 years of work experience in the semiconductor industry with US fabless start-ups and fab-light MNC companies where he held operations and engineering roles in managing volume ramp-up projects and implementing global backend outsourcing in Asia.
Based on his past experience in project management, Kok Hong successfully completed multiple consultancy projects in the Asia Pacific region. His current focus includes formulating operational strategies with external consultants to revamp IT best-practices, enabling modern workplace solutions and developing corporate brand positioning.
Kok Hong holds a Master of Science in Management of Technology from National University of Singapore and Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University.
Teng Yee works closely with management members in formulating and implementing strategic plans for overall corporate development. He also provides oversight in direct investments and financial functions of the firm. Prior to Sun Venture, Teng Yee was an Equity Research Analyst. He was also an entrepreneur who ventured into a real estate development business in Malaysia.
Teng Yee holds an Engineering Honours Degree from Nanyang Technological University and an MBA Degree from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is also a CFA Charterholder.
Katherine has 15 years of Singapore and Asia Pacific HR experience. She has led multiple HR teams across the region as a subject matter expert in recommending HR best-practices to companies. She now leads and executes Sun Venture’s strategic development programs to create a high-performing culture for the firm. Katherine was previously a Senior Manager with DSTA, a major government statutory board in Singapore.
Katherine graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and Social Sciences degree from the National University of Singapore. She is a certified IHRP-SP, IAL-ACTA, and 360-Degree practitioner and is familiar with psychometric tools such as MBTI, DISC, Hogan and Firo-B.
Meng Fatt was a management consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers and was previously the country leader for business analytics with IBM’s business consulting unit. As a management consultant, Meng Fatt partnered with leading global organisations to share thought leadership transformations, re-engineer business processes and formulate operational strategies, from concept to implementation. His current focus is on business analytics and digital transformation, in particular, the use of advanced mathematics to turn massive data into intelligent and meaningful outcomes.
Meng Fatt holds an MPhil from Cambridge University, an MBA from Chicago University and a Programme Certificate from Oxford University in Algorithmic Trading.
Terence Lei has 23 years of working experience in finance functions. Prior to joining Sun Venture, Terence was Vice President, Finance & HR with Keppel Land Retail Management, where he looked after finance, admin, HR and IT matters. Additionally, Terence was a senior Finance Manager with Guthrie Properties Singapore where he oversaw the finance functions for the real estate division.
Terence graduated with a Bachelor Degree with double major in Accounting and Management Information Systems from The Ohio State University, and holds an Associate membership with ISCA and Associateship with ICSA.
Peiqi has over 15 years of working experience in finance and audit. Prior to joining Sun Venture, Peiqi was a Senior Finance Manager with Keppel Corporation Limited, where she looked after the group reporting function and led the team on system change projects. In addition, Peiqi was a Senior Technical Manager with Accounting Standards Council and Assistant Vice President with YTL Starhill Global REIT Management Limited.
Peiqi graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from National University of Singapore, and is a Chartered Accountant of Singapore.
Vicki has over 15 years of working experience in both audit and operations, specialising in group financial reporting and modelling, taxation, budgeting as well as process improvement. Prior to Sun Venture, she managed the finance operations of the firm’s IT subsidiary in Hong Kong. She successfully led the team to implement various automation projects.
Vicki is a certified accountant of ACCA and a fellow member of CMA Australia.
Venice has over 7 years of working experience in finance and audit. Prior to Sun Venture, she was the Finance Manager of an SGX-listed company where she assisted the CFO in financial reporting, corporate announcement, group budgeting, mergers and acquisitions. She also led the alignment of acquired subsidiaries to the firm’s standard policies and procedures. She was a Senior Auditor in PKF-CAP LLP before she shifted her career path towards commercial finance.
Venice is a Chartered Accountant of Singapore and a member of ACCA. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours in Accounting.
Danielle has approximately 10 years of working experience notably in the real estate industry and in audit. Prior to joining Sun Venture, she was with Frasers Property for 7 years, where she had experience in handling full sets of accounts for development projects and investment properties, and was also involved in her organisation’s new financial system migration and implementation. Danielle was in audit with Ernst & Young for approximately 3 years, where her audit engagements included that of listed companies in the real estate, shipping, and manufacturing industries.
Danielle holds a Bachelor of Business in Professional Accountancy from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
Ka Mae has 12 years of combined experience in various compliance roles. Prior to joining Sun Venture, Ka Mae worked in MAS-licensed Fund Management and Wealth Management companies where she oversaw governance, risk management, regulatory and fund compliance. She has also worked as a regional compliance specialist for an MNC, with a particular focus on the Sarbanes-Oxley Act for Asia-Pacific Pension funds processes.
Ka Mae graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Banking and Finance from the University of London. She also holds a Diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance from the International Compliance Training Academy, and she is a member of the International Compliance Association.
Wei Jian has more than a decade of working experience in the finance and operations functions within the wealth and asset management industry. Prior to joining Sun Venture, he worked in a prominent Singapore family office. Wei Jian has also been with a fintech company, a fund manager and one of the big four accounting firms.
Wei Jian graduated with a Master of Science in Accountancy and Finance from Birmingham City University, United Kingdom. He is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a Chartered Accountant of Singapore.
Xianda has over 5 years of working experience in middle and back office functions in financial services and asset management industries. He currently handles Sun Venture’s fund operations and portfolio analytics. Prior to Sun Venture, he worked with multi-strategy hedge fund clients on fund administration matters at Citco Fund Service Singapore.
Xianda holds a Bachelor of Business with Honours from Nanyang Technological University. He is also a CFA Charterholder and a CIPM designation holder.
Denise joined the fund operations team in March 2020 and currently maintains daily financial updates for the equity trading data projects. Denise works on data from custodian banks and trading platform vendors to manage Sun Venture’s trading positions and NAVs. In addition, Denise supports compliance activities and operational reporting for management reviews. Prior to joining Sun Venture, Denise worked in other fund administration firms.
Stuart has over 30 years’ experience working in fund administration and also in operations in the wealth management business. Prior to Sun Venture, he worked as an assistant operations manager with Thomas Miller Investment (Isle of Man) Limited where he ran a team providing operational support to the Thomas Miller Wealth Management business located in London. In recent years, he played a major role in Thomas Miller Wealth Managements MiFID II implementation.
Stuart holds a Mathematics Degree from Edinburgh University.
Mark has over 20 years of experience in the field of Investment Operations with Thomas Miller Investment (Isle of Man) Limited and Zurich International. His role involves assisting the Isle of Man Operations Team with reviewing Sun Venture Global Fund’s valuations, developing client reporting, and updating procedural documents.
Mark has a General National Vocational Qualification (GNVQ).
Kevin has approximately 15 years of experience in the field of Investment Operations with Quilter International. His role involves assisting the Isle of Man Operations Team with reviewing the Sun Venture Global Fund valuations, developing client reporting, and updating procedural documents.
Kevin has professional certificates in Leadership & Management and Coaching & Mentoring.
Germaine has approximately 18 years of combined experience in the field of Human Resource, specifically in Business Partnering, Talent Acquisition, HR Systems and Shared Services. Prior to joining Sun Venture, she was with Ascendas-Singbridge for over 10 years, which was subsequently acquired by CapitaLand where she was most recently Senior Manager (HRBP).
Germaine holds a Bachelor of Arts from National University of Singapore and a Graduate Diploma in HR Management.
Evelyne brings along 16 years of working experience in a wide range of office management duties including workplace safety, guest management, HR administration, and secretarial duties.
Evelyne was previously Senior Office Manager in Wirecard Asia Holding, where she launched Workplace Safety and Health policies, participated in Business Continuity Planning, and led the organisation of employee engagement activities. As part of her Office Manager role, she also maintained vendor relations for business support and partnered with HR in engaging employees positively.
Evelyne has a Bachelor of Science in Management from the University of Manchester.
Having transitioned from Finance to Human Resource, Yuting has 10 years of experience in Credit Suisse covering various roles, businesses and regions including Business Partnering and Support, Business Analysis, Project Management and Financial Planning and Analysis. Prior to that, she was in auditing with Ernst & Young.
Yuting graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy and 2nd major in Finance from Singapore Management University. She is a Chartered Accountant of Singapore, an Associate Member with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and is an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation.
Jian Hui is an Executive with the Human Resource team. Prior to joining Sun Venture, he was an HR Executive with Beacon Consulting, Lee Wee & Brothers’ Foodstuff and Leica Instruments. Jian Hui was also with Toastmasters International for a decade where he served at various levels such as Division Director and Area Director within Singapore District 80.
Jian Hui holds a Bachelor of Business with Honours, with a specialisation in Human Resource Consulting from Nanyang Technological University.
Sin Sheng has 10 years of working experience in the semiconductor industry and 7 years of working experience in big data analytics. Prior to joining Sun Venture, he worked regionally with in-house business intelligence teams where he was consulted on effective processing of complex datasets and the building of analytic models.
Sin Sheng holds a Master of Science in Management of Technology from National University of Singapore and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University.
Xu currently oversees data engineering and matters related to cloud architecture for the Transformation team. Prior to Sun Venture, he has been working in various data infrastructure and web analytics teams at Comcast NBC Universal, Chubb Insurance, and Wells Fargo in Philadelphia and Charlotte, US. Xu holds active cloud and analytics certifications across Google, Oracle, and Microsoft Azure as well as SAS, Qlik, and Tableau.
Xu also holds a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD Business School and a Master of Enterprise Architecture from Pennsylvania State University.
Alex Kum has over 15 years of working experience in operations, across SMEs and MNCs. Alex currently manages Sun Venture’s office cloud platform and works closely with external consultants to evaluate and roll out new IT services regularly. Besides maintaining the IT backbone of Sun Venture, Alex supports on-premise infrastructure and office applications. With cloud computing taking centre stage, Alex also develops ad-hoc applications on cloud to address Sun Venture’s other computing needs. Prior to this, Alex worked at leading Singapore and foreign financial institutions.
Jeun Jye leads Sun Venture’s real estate team. Prior to joining Sun Venture, Jeun Jye was Senior GM and Head of Investment and Asset Management at Allgreen Properties where he led the acquisition of development and investment properties in Singapore, Vietnam, UK and Australia, as well as the asset management of Allgreen’s portfolio of assets. Before Allgreen Properties, Jeun Jye was Director, Investment and Asset Management, Southeast Asia in Mapletree, covering Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia. Prior to that, he was Vice President in CapitaLand in different roles and markets: investment and asset management; corporate planning; fund management and covered China; Japan; Singapore. Jeun Jye started his career in the Singapore Civil Service in the Ministry of National Development and Ministry of Trade and Industry.
Jeun Jye holds a Master of Science in Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and a French Engineering degree from Arts et Métier ParisTech. He also holds the CFA, CAIA and FRM professional qualifications.
Rayson is responsible for the real estate investment function at Sun Venture and he covers sourcing, assessment, evaluation and recommendation of real estate deals. He has over 20 years of working experience in the real estate investment industry. Prior to Sun Venture, he was with Allianz Real Estate, the real estate investment manager for Allianz Group Insurance Companies. At Allianz, he covered the group investment in Asia Pacific commercial properties and he was involved in both direct investments in properties and indirect investments in real estate funds across Asia. Prior to Allianz Real Estate, he was with ARA Asset Management’s private funds platform where he invested and divested commercial properties on behalf of third-party institutional investors in the fund.
Rayson holds a Bachelor of Business from Nanyang Technological University of Singapore and is a CFA Charterholder.
Esther is responsible for overall real estate investment deal structuring and execution as well as portfolio management. She has over 10 years of real estate industry experience across the public and private sectors in key developed markets. Prior to Sun Venture, she was part of CapitaLand International and was responsible for real estate investment and portfolio management in the UK, as well as evaluation of other strategic investments and M&A in developed markets like Australia. She has also worked in the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore as an urban planner and property research analyst.
Esther graduated from the University of Oxford with a Bachelor of Arts and also holds a Masters of Science in Real Estate from the National University of Singapore.
Sang Jin has a combined experience of 7 years spanning across core real estate classes and non-traditional asset types including infrastructure, integrated resorts, and smart cities. Prior to joining Sun Venture, Sang Jin was an urban economics consultant at Cistri and AECOM where he worked on large-scale master planned projects across APAC and the Middle East.
Sang Jin holds a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate (Hons) from the National University of Singapore.
Pei Hee is responsible for the overall asset management of Sun Venture’s real estate portfolio. He has over 20 years of experience in asset management, project management, development, operations, strategic planning and other corporate functions. Before joining Sun Venture, he was the Director of Project Management at Aman Resorts. Prior to that, he was with Alpha Investment Partners and Keppel REIT Management, where he held the role of SVP, Asset Management. He had also spent 7 years with Singapore Airlines as its Corporate Real Estate Manager, where he was responsible for driving the national carrier’s global real estate strategies.
Pei Hee holds an Honours Degree in Bachelor of Science in Building from the National University of Singapore.
Sarjeet started his career in real estate management 20 years ago. His experience spreads across managing residential, retail and commercial real estates with Jones Lang LaSalle, Knight Frank and Frasers Centrepoint. Sarjeet’s experience lies in M&E maintenance, tenant relationship management and asset enhancement which have contributed to tenant retention and a healthy portfolio occupancy rate.
Sarjeet holds a Bachelor of Science in Facilities Management from Heriot-Watt University.
Janice has over 20 years of working experience with Far East Organization and Frasers Centrepoint. Prior to Sun Venture, she managed building operations and leases for an overseas private fund company with asset portfolios in Indonesia and Singapore. Janice currently oversees the portfolio leases of Sun Venture’s real estate assets and works closely with tenants and agents to drive Sun Venture’s portfolio occupancy.
Janice holds a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate from Heriot-Watt University.
Tommy has over 9 years of real estate experience spanning cross-border real estate acquisitions, asset management, research, valuation, and commercial leasing. He joined Sun Venture from M&L Hospitality, where he was responsible for the underwriting and execution of international real estate acquisitions and asset management of hospitality and commercial assets. Prior to M&L, Tommy worked at GIC where he produced real estate market research and econometric forecasts covering multiple real estate sectors to support their investment strategy, portfolio allocation and deal underwriting. He started his career at JLL as a Graduate Trainee.
Tommy holds a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate (Hons) from the National University of Singapore. He is also a CFA Charterholder and RICS Chartered Member.
Andrew heads up the public markets team at Sun Venture where his responsibilities include driving all aspects of the investment programme and business whilst ensuring a culture of meritocracy and integrity. Prior to Sun Venture, Andrew has had a successful 20 year career with senior leadership roles in both start-up asset management firms and well-established finance houses in London, Hong Kong and Singapore. He started his career establishing and managing a successful manufacturing and distribution business in Hong Kong in 1996. Andrew has extensive experience in managing concentrated Global and Asian mandates across strategies including Long-only, Long/Short hedge funds and other security portfolios for large Global Institutions and Family Offices.
Kuan Lian has over 8 years of buyside experience and is currently covering the financial and real estate sectors. Prior to joining Sun Venture, he was with a boutique fund manager covering deep value Asian stocks, and later moved on to cover Greater China with a hedge fund.
Kuan Lian graduated from Nanyang Technological University and is a CFA Charterholder.
Darren has 10 years of experience in research and investing in the investment management industry. Prior to Sun Venture, Darren spent six years as a Research Associate at Capital Group where he worked with portfolio managers to identify global investment opportunities across various industries. Prior to Capital, Darren was also a team leader and Senior Consulting Associate at Cambridge Associates where he worked with institutions on their investment portfolios.
Darren, a CFA Charterholder, holds a Masters of Science in Finance from the University of Warwick and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manchester.
Debbie joined Sun Venture in 2017 and has over 3 years of research experience covering the consumer and healthcare sector. As a buyside analyst, Debbie has taken on global coverage and covered multiple sub sectors within the consumer sector including beverages, HPC and luxury. She is now focusing on global healthcare and is expanding her coverage to include life sciences and tools, medical technology, pharmaceuticals and managed care.
Debbie holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Finance from The University of Western Australia and is a CFA Charterholder.
Isaiah joined Sun Venture in 2021 as a graduate hire. Prior to starting his career with Sun Venture, he completed several internships, including a summer analyst role at Goldman Sachs (UK) as well as investment analyst role with Alphanomiks and The Fifth Person. He was also an intern with Singapore Airlines in the Loyalty Marketing and Network Planning departments.
Isaiah graduated from the University of Oxford with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Management.
Yueh Pyng leads Sun Venture’s private equity team. Prior to joining Sun Venture, Yueh Pyng was part of the Investment Group in Temasek where he managed investments in the transportation and logistics sectors globally. Previously, Yueh Pyng was a Vice President at Crescent Point Group, a China and Southeast Asia focused private equity and special situations firm, focusing on growth opportunities in Southeast Asia. Yueh Pyng was also an investment banker with Deutsche Bank in Singapore, covering Southeast Asia.
Yueh Pyng received his Bachelor of Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University.
Jeremiah has over 10 years of experience in direct private equity investing, across emerging Asia with a particular focus on Southeast Asia. Prior to Sun Venture, he was with Affirma Capital and Standard Chartered Private Equity, where he was involved in portfolio management across Southeast Asia and was a Director on the Board of Crystal Jade, Phoon Huat and Tat Hong, investments which he led. In addition, while in Standard Chartered Private Equity, he spent two years with the India team based out of Mumbai and was involved in growth capital investments into the healthcare, media and industrials sectors.
Jeremiah received his Bachelor of Business Administration from National University of Singapore.
